Your personal essay should respond to the following prompt: Describe a circumstance, obstacle or conflict in your life, and the skills and resources you used to resolve it. Did it change you? If so, how?

1. We recommend that your personal essay be between 350 and 700 words (1-3 pages).

4. You can find a resource for writing personal essays here and two samples of Generation Hope Scholar personal essays here.
